my YouCat journey continues..
my YouCat Journey continues....so here's week 2 (for me lah)..hehe...ok. so we learned all about The Church's teaching on Jesus and Jesus Christ-Kingdom of God.
ok. the church's teaching on Jesus. well, guess every Catholic, or Christian would not deny the fact that Jesus is the Son of God, who is truly God and truly man. yeah yeah, alot people will think that they know what the church teaches about Jesus (well, i admit i do too) but then something strikes me..again...the question, why did God become man through Jesus? i seriously and honestly never thought of such, and always (admiting now) think that it is such, so just accept it. but one think i learnt that nothing is coincidental in the creation of God, everything is meant to be. So Jesus becoming man, taking on the human flesh to share our earthly lot, our sufferings and finally death. in simpler words, Jesus experienced what we experience in our everyday life now....but surely, one thing defers..SIN. Jesus is everything like us except sin. He does not and cannot sin, well as we know, sin is the rejection of God and His love. so if Jesus sin, imagine that..he is actually turning away from himself..that is very illogical..(yeah, this is very controversial to some, but remember that there is always a choice to "agree to disagree").. so yeah, Jesus is just like us. so we can't just go ahead and complain that God does not understand us at all, because He did lived like us. so, just trust and have faith in Him.
Mary too came into the picture this lesson. because She is the mother of God, therefore she do play a significant role in the Church as well. but what is her actual role in the church? well, one member of my group did share with us her thoughts; Mary was made the mother of God so that we could actually relate to Jesus more as a fully man, since he has a mother too like any of us do. with her motherly love and care, we are able to reach out to them both (Jesus and Mary) and relating that to our own personal lives as well. I do agree with her statement. As a female, we all look up to Mary as our role model. the perfect woman that we all need to follow. Her trust and confidence in God is always something that we all need to learn from especially being a female and challenged by many hard facts of life. We have to be steadfast like Mary in our own way to face our daily lives.
Besides that, we learnt about Jesus Christ - Kingdom of God. We talked about miracles, his life, his death, his resurrection. Did Jesus really had to die? have we ever wondered what would happen if He did not take the cross on himself and die? well, for certain, i did not thought about it until that question was put forth to me..yet still, i think that it was the will of the Father that He should die just to save us all. and that showed us the humble side of God. Being God, with all his power and authority, He still chose to suffer and die on the cross. so whatmore could we ourselves ask more of a better example of humility and love. God's resurrection tells alot about faith and hope. His resurrection clearly marks that even death has no power against Him and although it is truly impossible (in scientific minds) that Jesus just rise from his death, but it is with deep faith and trust that we believe it happened. His resurrection also showed us that there is always hope when all else fails, hope still lives. besides the resurrection, something strikes me too about hope; the choosing of his 12 apostles. if we looked at the 12 men, they are of various backgrounds and in their own brokenness, yet, God still chooses them as his 12 and slowly worked his magic in them. these clearly brings hope to us that although we are broken in our own way, there is always hope that God will worked in us someway or somehow.
apart from that, something strikes me really hard. it was about the cross. Jesus choose the cross as his way to die. with all the sufferings, the pain and the scourging, he willingly took it up and finally gave up his breath on the cross. and look at our own lives, we too have our own crosses, but certainly it will never measure up to the cross that Jesus had to take. and yet, with our little crosses, we so often complain and curse at the burden and heartache that comes with it. we always tend to look at our own cross but fail to remember the huge cross that Jesus had to carry to save us all. if only we are able to carry our crosses with deep faith, it will certainly bring meaning to us at the end of it all. if we really are unable to carry them, then with great confidence and trust in God, offer it up to Him. He will be ever ready to help you carry it. the problem with so many of us is that we tend to forget the mercies that He has for us. and St.Fautina (i am looking forward to read her diary one day) is glad to explain to us that God is ever so merciful to us if only we have confidence and faith, and also to return to Him. He is there is guide us and help us through it all..
God bless us all. Amen.
