Getting out of our comfort zone
its been a while since i last posted...well, been busy with work...or maybe just making myself busy...hahhaa...whatever it was, it has been a whirlwind journey of late..
it got me thinking suddenly...to realize what we do to ourselves to deny ourselves from the reality in front of us.. confused?
think about it. how often we drown ourselves in our own comfort zone such as in our work (because we are so used to doing what we are doing) or going to eat at places which we are so familiar with daily or doing the same routinely thing daily i.e. take the same route for our morning/evening brisk walk. are we happy doing these things and continue staying in our comfort zones?
are you daring enough to get out of it and try new things? are you willing to put your work away just to have a good night out? are you willing to take a different pathway on your morning/evening brisk walk or maybe change it into a run instead?
think about it. we are so often afraid of change. for the simple reason. we are afraid of the uncertainty that lies within. we are doubtful if we are able to accept the change and eventually like it, then it feels like you are betraying your usual routine self.
it is nothing wrong to feel such. in fact, it is just the common human nature. we are just being the normal human. living in comfort, with the usual mindset of "if nothing is going wrong or no one is suffering, then i will continue to stick to what i am doing".
think again. are you willing enough to take up the challenge to start doing things the opposite way? reality is biting us daily whether we like it or not. the world is constantly changing and therefore, it is calling us for a change as well.
lately, i have been very challenged to change what i always think or do. and honestly, it is a whole new experience to get out of my comfort zone and do things that i would not have even thought of before. and it has enlighten me to many things unknown..but to the positive side, surely.
think about it. it is a challenge to change, but no harm in trying. after all, we only live once.
make the most out of it.
So help us God. Amen.
