Temptations
Temptations temptations temptations..... so many of them around us.....often than not, we always perceive temptations in forms of materials..but most of the time, we try to mask the emotional and mental temptations...
Look around you or just reflect of what you have done the whole day today...or maybe yesterday... was there any temptations to what you were feeling or acting against? I don't know about others but I sure am tempted to feel certain way in which I would prefer not to..
ok. some may be confused..let me explained in my own experience.. lately I am very often tempted to feel angry, to feel boastful, to feel nauseous, to feel betrayed, to feel used, etc etc. and every temptation will surely lead to negative actions or words... that is why these are known as temptations but not feelings, because we are just tempted to feel such but has the power to control that feeling from showing.... confusing? hehe..sorry lorrr..... but well..that is just reality. examine yourself..whenever you encounter such feelings, were you actually, in the first place, able to control that feeling? were you tempted in the first place?
well... the reason for me classifying these as temptations rather than feelings straight away is that I realized all these feelings are mere temptations... and because we are so blinded by one sided feelings or emotions, that these negative temptations won you over... think about it.... if these are mere temptations, that means you have the option to choose...to choose how you would feel or how you would react... these temptations are able to be countered if we choose to counter them with the opposite...neutralize any negative emotions.. and bring in the positive vibe....
temptations are just temptations... view it as how you would view materials...like how you are so tempted to break that diet plan of yours with chocolates, sweet stuff, etc but you make it a point to stay away from that just so to stick to your diet goals...
thus, put in the same concept with your emotions/feelings.... the same thing...when you are tempted to be angry, to scold somebody, or to show off, make it a point to relax, cool down, be tolerant, breathe...and look at things from a different point of view...
we are just humans. mistakes are common, but it can also be avoided if only we choose to be patient and practice peace. Love and peace will find a way within you if only you let them in... God bless us all.
