Help yourself by helping others
Sometimes, the only way you can help yourself is by helping others. True? I let you figure it out in your own way.
That is certainly true, for me.
As per my previous post on loneliness, it is not easy to surpass that lonesome feeling overnight. It takes much more than just "time will heal" or "you will get over it over the next few days". Sometimes, action speaks louder than words, and that is applicable to such situation / condition.
Being lonely is a feeling. Not to be denied nor brushed off, but better to be dealt with. to act upon it. The easiest way is to always find a distraction. Don't get me wrong that a distraction is to pull you away from the reality of your loneliness but rather allowing yourself to be exposed to something to help you gain insight or new perspective of your own situation / condition.
Hence, the first line states just about that. When you have done all that you can possibly do to fight the loneliness within, try and switch the focus away from yourself to others around you. Sometimes we are so caught up with our own world of loneliness that we forgot about the existence of the people around us. It is a situation of me, myself and I that we forgot the they, themselves and everyone. (hahaha....i made that up..hahaha)
My point is just very simple. Break free from your own world and your own pity and start looking around you. Yes, it is easier said than done, but it is not impossible. You may feel such pity and empathy for your own dull world but who knows if the person around you feels much worse than you? opening up yourselves to other's in need will somehow help you see life in a much different perspective altogether. you will slowly see how much life is worth and you will tend to appreciate yours better.
so, help yourself by starting to help others. it is a win-win situation.
God help us all. Amen.
